A small region in the northwest corner of Israel, Western Galilee is home to several kibbutz and hotels in Israel. The area is primarily a rural coastal region, but is home to Akko, an ancient Crusader city. The hills gain height as you fly and drive through the region, and they provide a stunning setting for rural communities, archaeology sites, and scenery. Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Akko’s Old City is a Crusader port city full of a maze of alley ways that create an authentic archaeological experience. The Tefen Open Museum, set inside the Tefen Industrial Park, includes artwork, a vintage car collection, and sculpture gardens. The biggest attraction when you fly and drive to Western Galilee, however, is its tranquility. The area offers a quiet coastline, much more so than most other areas in Israel, and is the home to the Keshet Cave, a natural attraction also known as the Rainbow Cave. Its name is a result of the rainbow of beauty found inside and outside the cave. The breathtaking area that homes Kibbutzim North of Israel is amazingly green and a wide variety of hotels in Israel and kibbutz hotels can be found here. Of the wonderous places to stay, Nes Ammim, Yehiam, and Shimrat are some of the most highly recommended.
